The Lockwood

Out with the blue and in with the new. These homeowners wanted a warm white kitchen that complemented the natural timber interior of this Lockwood home.

Functionality was key, so lots of drawers and pull out features were added.

To keep the budget down, some of the appliances were retained as well as the existing flooring and window treatments. However one upgrade they loved was their wall oven which features the ability to fold and conceal the door out of the walkway to provide better easy oven access.

Understated, quality finishes were added such as brushed nickel hardware, custom coloured splashback, and ceasarstone benchtop.

The homeowners are thrilled with the end result.

The Neutral Zone

With a stunning backdrop of lake Whakatipu these homeowners wanted a neutral kitchen to allow the natural view to take centre stage.

The 90’s designed kitchen was lacking in functionality with lots of awkward height changes and a crammed space making the cooktop area really congested.

We worked with the homeowners and identified the problem areas as well as the features that they liked. They wanted to retain the large corner pantry, but the angled bar leaner had to go to create more usable bench space. We reconfigured the floor plan to create a user-friendly layout with the dishwasher and pull-out bins framing the sink for a functional workspace.

The homeowners are enjoying settling into their new kitchen space.

The Minimalist Bathroom

This compact bathroom which also serves as the apartment laundry, felt smaller than it’s actual size due to high shelving and unnecessary partitions.

The homeowner wanted this space to feel more spacious and have better functionality. The wall blocking off the laundry was removed and the heated towel rail moved to a new location.

Careful consideration was given to the vanity style as the homeowner still wanted a reasonable size sink. So this was paired with a slim vanity (with a combination of storage options) in order to make the best use of the space. The offset tile brick splashback with mirror running the full length of the vanity helps to elongate its size and increase the spacious feeling of the room. Painted in a welcoming warm white mixed with a soft grey textured flooring completes the look. The homeowner is enjoying using this updated space.

The Separate Laundry

This homeowner wanted a functional laundry space that was separated from the existing garage and was a seamless transition from the rest of the home.

Located on the southern side of the house it was important to keep the material selections quite fresh and bright. However, too much white runs the risk of feeling a bit clinical. So to give a nod to the regions history a heritage blue has been introduced in the base cabinets and paired with reclaimed timber shelves. These introduce a warming element to the space especially when paired with the organic wood grain of the laminate flooring. To continue the heritage theme, a herringbone pattern splash back is matched with a subtle grey marble veined benchtop. The end result is a spacious and functional laundry that flows beautifully with the rest of the property. The homeowner is delighted with the result.

The Spathroom

Due for construction in 2026. This homeowner wanted a space that was casual in its sophistication. With light warm textured tiled walls making a haven for guests.

Maintaining the same functional layout is an important feature to keep construction costs down.

Using vertical heated towel poles as opposed to ladders brings elements below eye level helping this compact room feel more spacious.

The recessed mirror cabinet also introduces more useable space. Chrome tapware and solid surface vanity top are robust selections ensuring that these fixtures will handle use for many years to come.

The homeowner loves this look and is excited to complete the planning stage and is looking forward to this becoming a reality in the new year.

The Heritage Bathroom

Due for construction next year. This Cromwell property is located within walking distance of the Heritage Precinct. As such the homeowner wanted to include some traditional elements in keeping with the home’s location and existing style.

With a love of the outdoors she also wanted to inject a bit of nature. The soft muted palette of grey and green creates an overall calming space.

By removing the shower over bath and having it as a separate fixture, the bathroom will be a lot more functional for the homeowners and offers a more robust long-term solution.

The homeowner is really looking forward to enjoying this new space.

The Investment Property

This rental property in central Wanaka was in need of a makeover.

For this overseas homeowner, budget and durability were key factors, while still keeping in mind an attractive overall finish. A modular cabinetry system was used to keep the budget down, but still having an emphasis on longevity with quality European hardware. We altered the layout by utilising an existing cupboard for the new fridge location. This gave much better functionality for the oven and cooktop.

The homeowner wanted a fresh white kitchen with greige accent colours to help create a warm and inviting space, one that worked with the existing timber window frames. An overhang was added to create more usable bench space.

The homeowner is delighted with the results and has no shortage of potential tenants.

The New Build

This new home is scheduled for completion in February 2026.

For his kitchen this homeowner loved the clean minimalist look of Scandinavia but wanted to go warmer with the timber tones. He wanted to have a strong contrast and wasn’t afraid to go bolder with colour. So we have paired Aged Ash with Char Blu. The hidden walk in pantry selections are more pared back with a simple warm white as this is a smaller space which is largely hidden from view.

With the addition of a skylight in the ceiling, the design allows for the growing of kitchen garden herbs. For easy access when cooking and to introduce a living element into this space.

The homeowner loved going through this process and in particular noted the demonstration of how the light from the skylight would impact on the space.

Construction on his new home has started and he is really looking forward to moving in.

The Zen Ensuite

This bathroom is scheduled for construction next year. This homeowner wanted a neutral look that was warming and calming.

Keeping it uncluttered and minimalist was also her preferred style. To keep the budget down, a standard enclosed shower was used. This enabled some of the budget to go towards tiling the floor and vanity wall.

New technology non-slip tiles were selected in a beautiful tone that creates a wonderful, welcoming space.

Textured hexagon tiles run from the vanity to the ceiling to create a more seamless look in keeping with the minimalist style.

The homeowner loves this look, is excited for the work to be completed, and can’t wait to start using this new space.
