A transitional laundry space that blends contemporary design with traditional style elements
Project Brief:
The garage laundry is visible from the main home entry-way. The brief was to create a dedicated laundry space separated from the garage. Make it feels like part of the existing home. The directive was to make it light, warm and inviting, as well as sympathetic to its heritage location by introducing traditional style touches.

A soft heritage influence is achieved through a curated selection of materials. Villa white walls pair with organic grain timber laminate. Muted heritage blue base cabinets ground the laundry space. Whereas, as the warm white tall and upper cabinets keep the space light and bright. The benchtop with its subtle grey marble veining matches the dove grey grout in the herringbone tile splashback. V-groove panelling lines the opposing wall to add textural depth. Lastly a delicate brushed nickel handle with rounded corners adds softness and completes the look. For cohesion with the rest of the home the hallway floor was also replaced to match the laundry for a seamless transition between the spaces.
